Story
Dennis & Jacqueline Winn We are the dedicated dog enthusiasts behind Adornare Kennels, located in Jacksonville, Alabama. We specialize in Italian Greyhounds and Brussels Griffons, raising home-grown puppies from health-tested, champion bloodlines. Our dogs excel both in the AKC show ring and as loving, well-adjusted companions. Responsible breeding is at the core of everything we do, with a strong focus on health, temperament, and structure in every generation. Our passion for breeding began early, inspired by a childhood surrounded by well-bred dogs when poodles were part of the family. That foundation grew stronger in the 1990s when our son became a junior handler, showing Whippets and Bulldogs. While we have always admired Whippets, our lifestyle led us to smaller breeds that could easily travel with us—introducing Italian Greyhounds into our lives and show program. Dennis, a lifelong Star Wars fan, fulfilled his dream of owning a Brussels Griffon, and it wasn’t long before we fell completely in love with the breed. Today, both Italian Greyhounds and Brussels Griffons are cherished members of our family and an integral part of our AKC show schedule, admired for their intelligence, loyalty, and unmistakable “velcro” personalities.

We prioritize the health and well-being of every dog by performing DNA and comprehensive health testing through UC Davis, ensuring each puppy has the best possible start. Our dogs actively compete in a wide range of performance and conformation events—including Trick Dog, Farm Dog, Canine Good Citizen, Barn Hunt, Fast CAT, and AKC Conformation—demonstrating sound temperament, versatility, and structure. As certified Ring Stewards, Professional Handlers, and Preferred Good Dog Breeders, we bring extensive knowledge and experience to our breeding program. We are also proud, active members of numerous regional and national kennel clubs, staying engaged with the broader dog community and current breed standards.
